In 2006, Quentin created 16 original drawings in his studio as a commission for the Kershaw Ward in the South Kensington & Chelsea Mental Health Centre. The works were then scanned and the images used to create enlarged giclee prints to go on the walls in the hospital. The idea of trees is a recurring theme. As Quentin says : 'I like the idea because, although people of my age don't really spend so much time in trees, it's a reminder that this is not real life but just a visual suggestion, a little metaphor, of the vivacity and elan that can survive even if your limbs don't work with the smoothness and efficiency that they used to'. Though the audience for these pictures were elderly, children and younger people are depicted engaging in or observing the various activities alongside their older, more spritely, companions: whether balancing along a branch enjoying making music and dance, or simply relaxing in a hammock, the works show a mix of ages.
